Based on the distribution of megalodon fossil teeth, these giant sharks live in tropical and subtropical waters around the world, so they are not limited to small remote areas where they can hide.

Megalodon's preference for warm waters also means that a single shark probably won't hide in the frigid depths of the ocean.

They will most likely forage near the surface so they will be easily spotted.
