Google Introduces New Connectivity Features Across Devices

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) technology exhibition in Las Vegas, United States, Google revealed a number of its newest features. This feature is device connectivity to make it easier and smoother for Android phones, Chromebooks, Android TVs, and Wear OS smartwatches.

This feature starts with Fast Pair for Bluetooth headphones which will automatically pair with your Chromebook or Android phone to set up a new Chromebook providing all the required information as well as the wifi password .

This feature should be available in the coming weeks.

For the next few months, Matter-enabled smart devices will support pairing with Google TV or Android TV OS devices. Currently, you can unlock a Chromebook using an Android phone but Google also wants to enable it on Wear OS smartwatches.

Watches can unlock not only your Chromebook, but also your Android handset without having to be around you.

On the other hand, Samsung phones will see added support for the digital car key feature. UWB-enabled phones will have the ability to unlock your BMW simply by approaching your car door.

Sharing your virtual car keys with friends and family is also an option when they need to borrow your car. In addition, Volvo cars will be among the first to offer remote functionality using your Android device. Just like home automation, you can preheat the car or turn on the air conditioner before you enter the car.Reported by GSMArena, Friday (7/1), Google aims to make streaming content smoother across various devices. For example, if you use Bluetooth headphones to watch a movie on your tablet and a call comes in on your phone, the system will pause the movie and accept the call from your phone and continue after it without you having to touch anything. It will be available in the following months for supported headphones.

Also, Google wants to build Chromecast to more devices like TVs, smart speakers, and more. Bose will be one of the first to release speakers and soundbars with Chromecast functionality.

Lastly, Google makes it possible to interact with your Android phone without having to take it with you. For example, you'll be able to respond to messages using Phone Hub without having to install the app on your Chromebook. Without going into further details, Google also promised to provide advanced connectivity features by the end of the year for Windows PCs
