North Korean Soldiers Deployed to Find Life or Death Mural Maker Who Criticizes Kim Jong Un

PYONGYANG - North Korean authorities are looking for a mural maker who insulted Kim Jong-un through handwriting.

North Korean soldiers were deployed to find the perpetrator.

They even ordered thousands of residents of Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, to collect samples of their handwriting.

Later the writing on the mural will be matched with the handwriting that was collected.

Previously found graffiti with messages insulting Kim Jong-un on the walls of an apartment building in Pyongchon District, Pyongyang, last December 22.

“Kim Jong-un, you s***** child. Many people are starving to death because of you,” reads the derogatory message on the graffiti.

The insults came after a famine hit North Korea due to flooding and the closure of the border with China due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Local officials later removed the mural on the wall, and police are now working to track down the culprit.

Quoted from the Daily Mail, officers have conducted door-to-door searches of homes and nearby business locations.

They asked for handwritten samples, and asked local residents about their movements on the day the graffiti appeared.

Police will likely use the thousands of CCTV cameras installed across the city.

Criticism of Kim Jong-un and the regime is strictly prohibited, and those who oppose him are likely to face lengthy sentences in notorious forced labor camps.

In serious cases, even get the death penalty.

In North Korea, particularly Pyongyang, protests against Kim Jong-un are rare and unheard of.

Moreover, the capital area can only be inhabited by the elite.

Earlier in 2018, a colonel who criticized Kim Jong-un by writing a slogan at the April 24 House of Culture in Pyongyang, was sentenced to death for his actions.
